The Three Best Coffee Shops in Barcelona (written by a local)
I’ve been living in Barcelona, Spain, for over 15 years. And as a coffee lover, I’m always on the lookout for cafés with great coffee — I like to enjoy an americano (double-shot) in the early mornings and a latte in the afternoons.
I visit a new coffee shop at least once a week — so I’ve probably been to hundreds at this point. But there are three that I keep coming back to... beyond having some of the best coffee in Barcelona, each café has a unique atmosphere that makes the whole experience even better.
So, if you want to save time finding the best coffee shops in Barcelona and impress your friends — unless you’re like me and mostly go alone to read or work 😂 — you’re in the right place!
Morrow Coffee
☕️ Coffee
One of the best specialty coffees in Barcelona. They use single-origin beans — mainly from Brazil and Ethiopia — and roast them in-house (they have an open kitchen, so you can actually watch them roast the beans 🫘). You can also grab a bag for yourself…
👥 Service
The staff is always in a great mood. And with 4–5 people running the café, the service is attentive and fast.
✨ Vibe
First and foremost, I come for the coffee.
But it just so happens that this coffee shop is also the perfect place to get some work done — with its beautiful window bar, super-fast internet (270 Mbps), and low-volume music.
So I often come here to enjoy a delicious coffee while catching up on work! And a lot of people seem to do that too.
🛋️ Comfort
I wouldn’t say it’s the most comfortable, especially since most of the chairs are actually stools. But honestly, the stools match the window bar vibe perfectly.
🎶 Music
They typically play rap (low volume).
🛜 Wi-Fi
Fast and reliable. I never have any issues with it.
Since it’s a public Wi-Fi, I always use a VPN to encrypt my connection and protect sensitive information — like passwords, personal files, and credit card details.
I personally use NordVPN. I like it because it has over 8,000 servers across 211 locations worldwide, and lets you protect up to 10 devices — at the same time — with one account. If you want to try it, you can use my affiliate link to get up to 70% off and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
🔌 Power Outlets
They have many across the window bar.
🐶 Pet-friendly
Yes!

Fonik Café
☕️ Coffee
This specialty coffee shop just opened a month ago, but it has already become one of my favorite places. The coffee is truly excellent — every sip feels like an experience. I highly recommend it.
👥 Service
It’s clear the baristas are passionate about their craft. They’re also incredibly warm and friendly — I always leave in a better mood after chatting with them.
✨ Vibe
I love the vibe here. It has a bit of a vintage party feel — with vinyl records, two record players, and six old-school speakers — so the ambience is fun and uplifting.
I also come here to work, but mostly for light tasks, since the music can get a bit loud at times.
The crowd here is mixed: families, remote workers, people reading books, and even a few cute little dachshunds.
🛋️ Comfort
The coffee shop has wooden chairs and round tables. It’s comfortable, but not the kind of place where you’d accidentally fall asleep.
🎶 Music
They have two record players and six old-school speakers. The sound has amazing depth, and they typically play hip-hop, jazz, and plenty of songs from the ‘80s.
The volume tends to stay at a medium level — not too low or too high. Although it can get a bit loud at times.
🛜 Wi-Fi
They have super-fast internet 💨
Here too, I use NordVPN to encrypt my connection and stay safe.
If you want to try it, you can use my affiliate link to get up to 70% off and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
🔌 Power Outlets
I’ve only seen one power outlet in the entire coffee shop.
So if you’re planning to work from here, make sure to bring your laptop fully charged.
🐶 Pet-friendly
A bit unfair — they have a strict policy of only accepting dachshunds (kidding, all pets are welcome!)
📍 Location
(Open in Google Maps) Carrer de Tamarit, 104, Eixample, 08015 Barcelona.
SAGA Coffee Stories
☕️ Coffee
The specialty coffee here is amazing, although I personally like it slightly more at Morrow Coffee and Fonik Café.
👥 Service
The staff is kind and attentive, and they bring the coffee to your table.
✨ Vibe
This is where SAGA Coffee Stories truly shines.
It’s one of the most beautifully decorated coffee shops I’ve been to — with a boutique-hotel style and a minimalist aesthetic.
I’ve also noticed that a lot of people come here to study or work.
🛋️ Comfort
Another area where SAGA shines!
Since most of the seating consists of soft, cushioned armchairs, it’s an incredibly cozy spot to hang out.
I often come here to relax and read a book with a nice latte.
(Plus, I’m certain they have the most beautiful bathroom of any coffee shop in Barcelona!)
🎶 Music
Expect mainstream pop music, with the volume usually staying at a medium level.
It’s hard for me to focus when pop music is playing, so I don’t work from here — I mainly come to relax, catch up with friends, or read a book.
Right now, BIRDS OF A FEATHER by Billie Eilish is playing. It’s bringing back memories from my last trip to Thailand — again, hard to focus!
🛜 Wi-Fi
I connected to the Wi-Fi on my phone and ran a speed test…
230 Mbps is super fast!
🔌 Power Outlets
I’d say around half of the tables have a power outlet.
So you’ll most likely find one if you need it.
🐶 Pet-friendly
Yes, pets are welcome!
📍 Location
